Hardware Upgrades

Do you ever feel your computer or laptop is running too slow, DVD drive does not respond, or your Wi-Fi is not connecting? Most of these problems can be fixed by replacing the hardware components. We carry out most upgrades at our workshop due to time it can take and having the correct components and testing equipment. We will schedule a free collection & delivery from your home at a convenient time to you.
SSD Hard Drive installation
If your PC is still using a mechanical hard drive, upgrading to a solid-state drive will offer you a dramatic performance improvement. A solid-state harddrive will offer the single biggest boost in system performance. Unlike traditional hard drives, solid-state drives (SSD) are so-called because they have no moving parts. This makes them more efficient and, ultimately, faster.

RAM Upgrade
Increasing RAM in older computers/laptop can show a big difference in performance. If you are running multiple programs on your computer with less RAM, the performance will be compromised. Choosing the larger capacity RAM module could be the answer to your slow computers!

Power Supply
Your PC doesn’t take power directly from a wall outlet, but instead needs a power supply to convert normal electricity into a lower wattage. If the power supply on your PC stops working, the computer either will not power on or will shut itself off at random times. To test if your power supply is the issue, make sure that everything is plugged in, it’s entirely possible that a cord has just slipped out from the outlet while you’re working.

If power is present to the monitor and other peripherals, yet there is no power to your computer, there is likely something wrong with your power supply the most obvious clue is that the system will do absolutely nothing when you hit the power button. If there is no sound and no monitor activity of any kind, the power supply has probably died. While this can also be caused by a faulty switch, it is usually the result of a burned-out power supply.

Graphic cards
Graphic processing in your computer uses RAM. If you are seeing lots of videos or using graphic design software or playing those graphic intensive games on your computer, then upgrading graphic card can boost the performance of your computer, as the dedicated graphic cards will have its own RAM. Installing a new Graphics card can also facilitate use of a second or third monitor.

Our team members are more than happy to answer any of your questions before, during, and after the repair process. Get in touch with us today to find out more about this service.

Screen Replacement
So many ways to damage the laptop screen. Accident happens every day; like the laptop was dropped from a height, trying to force the laptop to fit into a small suit case and the kids hit it. A dying, or cracked display doesn’t mean your laptop is permanently finished. For most laptops, a screen replacement can be carried out in our workshop. We will collect your laptop at a convenient time to you and deliver back to you at a convenient time. This service will normally take a few days as we will need to order in a replacement screen from the manufacturer.
Battery Replacement
Battery life span is not set in stone. If your laptop’s manufacturer made any claims about the battery’s overall lifespan, it wasn’t a solid, infallible figure. Your computer, battery, average use and computing habits all factor in when determining how long your battery will last. Tests have shown a noticeable reduction in run time generally will be observed after 18 to 24 months roughly 1,000 full charges
Laptop Keyboard Replacement
There are several reasons a laptop keyboard may stop working. Keyboards see a lot of use and the keys can wear out over time. The user may accidentally spill some liquid on the keyboard, which shorts out the wiring. The computer can freeze up, making it appear that the keyboard is no longer working, when it is really the computer that’s not working. If using a wireless keyboard, it may need new batteries. Finally, there may be a problem with the connection between the keyboard and the laptop.
